Knowing the ins and outs of recreational vehicle insurance (aka RV) is important when considering this purchase. Since each RV is unique, you’ll need tailored coverage to match your needs. How you use your RV, how often you use it, even the RV itself is all unique to the makeup of the insurance. It’s important to ascertain everything you need to know regarding this investment.

For starters, RV insurance is different from traditional auto insurance. Generally, there are two categories that make up the world of RVs: recreational and full-timers. Recreational RV insurance is the best insurance if you do not live in your RV year round, or maintain it as your primary residence. This type of coverage provides insurance for your RV inside and out while you’re driving or parked at a campsite. You can obtain coverage for accidents, personal belongings, and injuries that happen on your campsite (or wherever your RV happens to be parked).

Full-timers on the other hand differ somewhat from recreational insurance and is best for those that live in their RV full time. You’ll still get the same coverages as you would recreational, but you can add more coverage that has more of a “homeowner” feel. These additional add-ons can help cover injuries on your property, theft, and damages stored on and inside your property to name a few.

All in all, RV insurance is an absolute must for anyone considering purchasing and using these vehicles. At Ramey King, we’d be happy to sit down and discuss the various ways to protect your RV today.
